Island Stones makes for a true getaway in every sense. Breathe in the majesty that is St. John’s North Shore.
With hardly another person, home, or road in your view, Island Stones’ private, secluded location will truly make you feel as if you’ve gotten far away from reality.
Originally built in 1969 during a bloom in development and tourism on St. John and the Virgin Islands, Island Stones was built high into a hillside and spent decades as a private residence. Completely remodeled and updated in 2010, Island Stones maintains much of its original old-island charm while offering the finest in amenities and modern appointments.
“Island Stones Off The Charts Good!”
My family just returned from a week at Island Stones. I have traveled a good deal, but have never encountered such an architecturally-interesting house on such a stunning site. The house reflects the stone building tradition of St. John.
The floor plan offered our large group, consisting of myself and my wife, our three children and their spouses, and all our grandchildren, complete privacy. At the same time the Great Room and pool deck were wonderful gathering places for our entire group.
Views from the house are stunning. It looks down on Cinnamon Bay with Tortola and Jost Van Dyke in the background. The pool deck view should be on the cover of a travel magazine. At night, the distant island lights were a pleasure to see, as was the full moon rising over the mountains.
The central location is another plus. We could easily reach Cinnamon and Maho Bays for swims, and it was only a ten-minute drive to reach all the restaurants and shops in Cruz Bay. Everyone in our family, which ranged in age from two to sixty-nine, had a wonderful week at Island Stones. Staying there was one of the best experiences we have ever had.
